Hey everyone!
So, in my last post, I mentioned that the school board was working on a compromise to make the new auditorium suitable for music and theatre, and some of you guessed it. Brand new sound shells! These babies will be kept upstairs in a storage closet until we're ready to use them, and then they'll make even the youngest of bands sound good!
And that's not all the new equipment we're getting.
When our new band room is built, my students will be able to use brand new tuners, a stereo, new stands (that won't sink on us! whoa!), pianos in all the practice rooms, two computers with Sibelius and Smart Music, and-- wait for it-- new instruments! That's right! There's enough in the budget for me to afford a new bass clarinet, concert tuba, bari sax, and two new euphoniums. Not to mention all the new percussion supplies we buy every year.
...did I mention this is my dream job? How can a girl get this lucky!?
