Facilities

Hello Everyone!

Today was my first meeting about the new music facility, and boy did it have me giddy like a kid in a candy store.

Its looking like the performing arts department (i.e. band, choir, theatre) are going to have an entire building to ourselves, more than any of us could have hoped for! The band room will be large enough to accommodate a 200 piece band (dream big!), with a large instrument storage room attached for students to store their instruments during the day. On the right side of the hallway connecting the band room to the choir room will be the band and choir offices, and on the left will be three to four practices rooms for students of both disciplines to make use of them. Each will, of course, be equipped with upright pianos.

Then, on the upstairs level will be a brand new auditorium! It'll seat around 1,500 people! Wow! However,  the auditorium is being built for theatre acoustics, but they've found a way to accommodate band and choir concerts. More on that later. ;)
